SRP has initially been created in April 2005 to develop offshore renewable energy sector and most particularly wave energy.

At the beginning, SRP works, self financed by its founder Philippe Marconet, lead to find a manufacturer of wave energy converter. The technological advance of Pelamis Wave Power (PWP) being the most satisfactory and authenticated, decided SRP to sign a distribution agreement early 2006 for the South Pacific area (except Australia and New-Zealand) which has been later extended to Reunion and Mauritius islands.
